Thunderkick: original slots from a Swedish studio

Who Thunderkick is

Thunderkick is a Swedish game studio based in Stockholm, founded in 2012. It entered the market with a clear intention — not to copy established templates but to bring out slots with a signature of their own. That is why its games are easy to recognise by their idiosyncratic humour, clean design and unmistakable mood.

Unlike the big corporations this is a smaller, boutique studio that builds on quality and ideas rather than volume. The portfolio consists of dozens of original titles, each with its own theme and atmosphere. It is precisely this approach that has earned it a loyal audience among players looking for something other than a fruit machine they have seen a thousand times.

At Dukat.bet you will find Thunderkick among the established providers. If you want to browse the brand's wider range, head to the slots category, where the games are sorted by type and by mechanic.

Original themes instead of licences

Thunderkick's defining trait is its own, in-house themes. Instead of licensed film or music brands the studio invents worlds from scratch — from the Mexican day of the dead through surreal dreams to mythological duels with monsters. That freedom lets it offer an experience you will not find anywhere else.

The artwork is restrained but considered. The games do not flood the screen with effects; they rely instead on legible symbols and tasteful animation. Sound tends to matter just as much as the picture — whether that is the mariachi band in Esqueleto Explosivo or the dreamlike backdrop of Pink Elephants.

It is this emphasis on atmosphere that separates Thunderkick from providers churning out dozens of similar titles a year. Every game feels like a self-contained piece with an idea behind it, not another unit off the production line.

Typical mechanics: cluster pays and avalanches

Thunderkick is not afraid to experiment with how a win actually comes about. Alongside classic lines and ways-to-win systems, its favourite tools include cluster pays (payouts for groups of symbols) and avalanches or cascades (falling symbols).

With cluster pays the payout is not for a line but for a group of matching symbols that touch one another. This principle drives Esqueleto Explosivo, where the winning symbols additionally explode and make room for new ones. Cascades, in turn, chain wins within a single spin in Pink Elephants, so one round can bring several wins in a row.

Added to that are rising multipliers, mystery symbols and various free spin variants. If these terms are not entirely clear to you, take a look at our overview of game features, where they are explained with concrete examples. It is precisely this combination of unconventional mechanics that makes Thunderkick games such a distinctive experience.

The best-known Thunderkick slots

The following overview sums up four well-known Thunderkick slots that we also cover in separate reviews. The RTP and volatility values given come from the provider and were verified as of 2026-09-15.

RTP values are long-term statistical averages across an enormous number of spins, not a prediction for an individual session. They may differ at some operators, so always verify them in the info panel of the specific game. Details on two of the standout titles are in the reviews of Midas Golden Touch and Beat the Beast: Kraken's Lair.

The Beat the Beast series

The Beat the Beast series forms a chapter of its own. It is a line of slots with a shared structure in which the player faces a mythical monster — a kraken, Cerberus, a sphinx or other creatures out of legend. All the instalments share the same grid and similar rules, differing in theme, opponent and the details of the bonus.

The first and best-known instalment is Beat the Beast: Kraken's Lair, in which a giant octopus rises from the depths. The series builds on expanding wild symbols and free spins with so-called Guardian coins, which add value during the bonus. These are titles with high volatility, so the main potential is concentrated in the bonus game.

Once you understand one instalment you will find your way around the rest — and that is the charm of the series. The same skeleton with a different backdrop lets a player pick a favourite monster without having to learn an entirely new set of rules.

Quality and playing on mobile

All modern Thunderkick slots run on HTML5 technology. That means they launch straight in the browser of a computer, tablet or phone with no download and no installation. The interface adapts to the screen size and you control the game comfortably by touch.

The studio's clean design pays off especially well on mobile — the symbols stay legible, the control buttons are big enough and the animations do not tax the device's performance. As a result, playing on the move feels almost the same as playing on a large monitor.

The economical approach to effects has a practical advantage too: the games load briskly even on a weaker connection. That makes Thunderkick a pleasant choice for anyone who likes switching between devices and does not want to bother with installing apps.

The Slots Bonus at Dukat.bet and responsible play

Thunderkick slots count as slot machines, so the welcome offer for slots applies to them. Dukat.bet lists it as Slots Bonus 500% up to 3,000 EUR + 15% Cashback. Bonus funds top up your deposit and the cashback returns part of your play, which on titles with higher volatility helps bridge a longer wait for the bonus game.

A bonus is a game mechanic, not a promise of a payout. Always check the exact terms, the minimum deposit and the wagering rules directly at Dukat.bet, where their binding wording applies. This offer concerns slots and does not mix with the live casino bonus.

Finally, a reminder of the main thing. Thunderkick games are a form of entertainment, not a way to earn, and chance decides every outcome. Play with a level head, set your limit in advance and never stake more than you can afford to lose.
